I think probably you’d have to go even further than that to get something that’s truly an artificial general intelligence system.
But AI can absolutely generate images of humans who have never existed. And in that case, who gets to profit from the performance? Bushwick: That’s right – I spoke with Hany Farid, a professor at the University of California Berkeley who studies this type of technology. So maybe you create this sort of this chimera right? “Sorry can you repeat the question, I was just sort of thinking about the AI thing for a second,” he said. Farid: If I for example, Sophie record 2 minutes of your voice just 2 minutes nothing sophisticated just on this call right now: I can now go over to a commercial website and for $5 a month I can clone your voice and have you say anything I want you to say. But if you’re a working actor, you have to put up with a lot of stuff like that for the job. Bushwick: And if you have an AI-generated fake actor, it can be customized to different markets. There will always be situations where you don’t have the imagination to understand someone else’s experience. Last year there was a 16% increase for online AI and Data Science job vacancies and research found that 69% of vacancies were hard to fill.
